Rand Water forums will be having a tour on the 16^th November 2011  to the to the West Rand Goldfield mines. West Rand Goldfield mines is constituted by 4 major mines which have, over a history of more than120 years, extracted gold and, at times, uranium from metasedimentary rocks of the Witwatersrand Supergroup. The goldfield occupies a triangular area bounded by the Rietfontein Fault in the north, the West Rand Fault in the west and the Witpoortjie Fault in the south and east. Read more
