Governance
Rand Water’s strong corporate governance is underpinned by standards outlined in the King Report on corporate Governance for South Africa (King II) published in 2002, and the Public Finance Management Act, Act 1 of 1999 (PFMA).
This ensures alignment with the best corporate practices in South Africa, which will be further promoted by the King III Code on Corporate Governance, which will emphasize sustainability.
Governance structures are geared to providing leadership within a framework of effective controls that promotes risk assessment and management. These controls are reviewed regularly to incorporate legislative changes and developments and the shifting natural and economic environments.
