We wish to draw the attention of all our Stakeholders to a wave of frauds affecting many companies at the moment. The current most frequently used fraud is called “Fake President Frauds”. We recommend that our employees, clients and suppliers should stay vigilant.
 

   
DWS UPS THE ANTE WITH 180 MORE TANKS SUPPLIED IN GAUTENG

The Department of Water and Sanitation (DWS) in Gauteng has accelerated efforts to weaken the offensive of the novel coronavirus with the provision of 180 more water tankers to meet the demand of water-scarce communities across the province. To date, the Department has delivered and installed a total of 1662 water tanks throughout the province.
 

 
PRESIDENT CYRIL RAMAPHOSA VISITED (RAND WATER) RIETVLEI THIS MORNING

President Cyril Ramaphosa visited Rietvlei this morning where the National Command Centre – Water and Sanitation is hosted by Rand Water. He was briefed on the operations of the centre in response to the outbreak. The Command Centre was initiated flowing from the President’s announcement of the country being in a State of National Disaster due to the onset of the #CoronavirusInSA, thus the need for urgent responses to the pandemic.
 
The Ministry of Human Settlements, Water and Sanitation has been tasked with a responsibility of ensuring that there is water for all communities in order to flatten the curve and to stop the spread of the virus.

CONCERN OVER VANDALISM OF WATER TANKS AND TANKERS

The Department of Water and Sanitation has delivered more than 377 water tanks out of the 779 tanks and a further 42 water trucks out of the 83 that are allocated for the Northern Cape. The slow delivery of water tanks is attributed to the increased demand from Municipalities all over the country as a result of the COVID-19.
 

DELIVERY OF WATER TANKS AND TANKER PROGRESSING WELL IN FREE STATE

The provision of water to curb the spread of COVID-19 pandemic is progressing well in Free State in line with pronouncements made by the Minister of Human Settlements, Water and Sanitation, Ms Lindiwe Sisulu last month.Minister Sisulu issued a directive to the Department and all its water entities to urgently dispatch water tanks ad tankers to rural communities and informal settlements.
 

MINISTER SISULU WARNS MUNICIPALITIES AGAINST CUTTING WATER SUPPLY TO RESIDENTS

The Minister of Human Settlement, Water and Sanitation, Lindiwe Sisulu, has appealed to municipalities throughout the country to refrain from abrupt cutting of water supply to residents as this deprives them of their basic human right of access to clean water. The practice also hampers the government’s efforts to fight the spread of Corona Virus.
 

DWS DELIVERS WATER TANKS AND TANKERS TO VULNERABLE COMMUNITIES TO CURB SPREAD OF COVID-19 IN GAUTENG
 
The Department of Water and Sanitation (DWS) in Gauteng has delivered 187 water tanks and 20 water tankers (trucks) to vulnerable communities across the province in a bid to increase water availability to stem the spread of the deadly coronavirus.

Boil water before use to fight COVID-19 - DWS As the COVID-19 pandemic figures rise in South Africa, the Department of Water and Sanitation (DWS) is urging people in rural areas who still fetch their water from rivers and streams to boil it first before they use it for drinking, washing and cooking to avoid contracting the disease.
 
The World Health Organisation has warned that behavioural change in hygiene practices is key to combating the spread of the dreaded disease that has wreaked havoc and claimed lives of over 4 000 people and incapacitated thousands of others across the globe.

RAND WATER APPEALS TO CONSUMERS TO USE WATER SPARINGLY
 
Rand Water is working hard to manage the water demand requirements of our municipal and industrial customers in Gauteng, North West, Free State and Mpumalanga provinces.    However, the current combination of extremely high temperatures and virtually no rainfall within our area of supply has resulted in high water consumption levels, which is placing a significant amount of stress on our system.
 

 SCAM: SUPPLIERS TO SUBMIT QUOTATIONS(SCM) 
 
Rand Water wishes to warn all its suppliers and companies conducting business with it of a scam wherein unsuspecting suppliers are requested to submit quotations and are instructed to pay money into a bank account.
 
These scammers use the Rand Water letterhead and the documents supplied bears the ink stamp purported to be Rand Water’s.
